The Monroes (Norwegian band)

The Monroes was a Norwegian pop/ska duo that held significant popularity in Norway in the 1980s. The band consisted of guitarist Eivind Rølles and vocalist Lage Fossheim. Their biggest hit was "Sunday People". Their first album (of the same name), released in 1983, sold over 130,000 copies in Norway. Their follow-up album, Face Another Day, released in 1985, sold over 250,000 copies in Norway. [1] Their hit song "Cheerio" from Face Another Day was remade by the popular Norwegian musical duo Ravi & DJ Løv, with the title changed to "Tsjeriåu".

The band was strongly influenced by the English band Madness.
